I just finished creating my first Squidoo lens and I am so excited to share it with you!

Ok, so you got clear on what you want and you made nice, nice with the person you see in the mirror, so what now?

Well, my fellow Goddesses, now it is time to make a plan and begin taking action.

Once you have a clear vision of what it is your really, really want, and you’ve done the work to clear belief patterns about your own self worth that stood in your way, the next step in the process is making a plan for action.

This one is actually a lot easier than the first two.  You’ve already done the heavy lifting!

Today your challenge is:

  1. Take the list of the things you want that you got really clear about in step 1 and pick the one that speaks to you the most, the one you are most passionate about.
  2. Write it at the top of a clean sheet of paper.
  3. Underneath it, list at least three things you can do to bring you one step closer to your goal.
  4. On the bottom write a date for these steps to be completed.  Be realistic with yourself, the real key is to assign yourself tasks that you will take action on and not feel overwhelmed by.  I recommend breaking down bigger tasks into small ones and only focus on three at a time.  As you check the action items off your list, you begin to feel the movement toward your goal and you pick up momentum.
  5. Put this sheet of paper someplace you will see it everyday. (I recommend the bathroom.  I know it seems strange, but all of us use the bathroom several times a day and if placed strategically, you will see it and be reminded of it each time you are there!)
  6. Make the commitment to yourself to take action on these items and when you complete them, assign yourself three more, until you reach your goal.  I call this the rinse and repeat process!

The key to success is having a plan, the willingness to take action and then actually taking action!  So many people get caught up on the thinking about and focusing on their goals, that they forget that action on their part is required.

Remember, as you support your dream, so does Lady Universe!

I’ll check back in a few days with the final step in the “How to get what you really, really want” series!

Having read The Secret I am grateful that this book/movie has brought the concept that each of us has the power to create whatever we want in our lives into mainstream thinking.  It took a new age concept and gave it credibility in our culture.  So in that respect, The Secret was a positive influence on giving “power to the people”, but I also feel that it did a disservice to so many by oversimplifying the process.

Yes, The Secret introduces the concept of thoughts are things and the “if you believe it, you can achieve it” mindset, but it stops there.  It never really teaches a step by step process for creating what we want.  So I decided to share with you the process that has repeatedly worked for me.

On Tuesday, I posted the first step in the process of manifesting what you really, really want.

Getting crystal clear on what you want.
It’s all about being sure that the things you are trying to manifest are really things you want and not things you think you should want because of ideals or pressure from loved ones or society as a whole.  So now that you’ve had a few days to figure out exactly what it is you really want, let’s move onto the next step in the process.

Examing your belief systems.
The fact is, you can dream a thousand dreams and you can wish a million wishes, but if you hold core beliefs that you don’t deserve, can’t have or aren’t worthy of those dreams and wishes, you will NEVER be able to manifest them.

In my experience with the various teaching of the manifestation process I have seen this step get overlooked or discredited more often than not.  Yet, in my own personal experiences of working with the manifestation process, I have found this to be the most important ingredient and the area where I have gotten stuck the most.

Do you truly believe that you are a Divine Goddess when you look in the mirror or do you see all the things you are not?  It seems so simple really, but not believing in yourself and having low self worth can be a major obstacle in achieving your goals and your dreams.

So how do you move beyond your limiting beliefs?

Just as in the first step, clarity is the key.  Before you can move beyond limiting beliefs, you need to understand and get clear about what limiting beliefs you hold.  I guess what I am saying is that in order to be a master at the manifestation process, you need to be willing to look in the mirror, go within and get really clear about how you feel about your own worth and about what you think you deserve in life.  The absolute key here is being dead honest with yourself, even if the truth feels uncomfortable to you.

So I challenge you to spend 2-3 minutes in front of the mirror each day for the next few days.  Here are some questions to ponder as you do.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

How do you feel about the woman you see?

Can you say “I love you” and really mean it?

Or, are you comparing yourself with others and feeling like you don’t measure up?

If you find that you have some work to do on your relationship with yourself, here are some great resources that I have found helpful on my own journey:

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) - Absolutely the best and easiest healing modality I have used and worked with.  It is based on clearing blockages along the meridian pathways that were caused by emotional upsets or trauma.  I have seen huge and immediate shifts in my own healing and in that of my clients.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay - No self help library is worth its salt without this classic by the queen of self help and healing, Lousise Hay!  This book has some great mirror work exercises.

In the Meantime by Iyanla Vanzant - Anyone who is looking to manifest a healthy balanced relationship needs to read this book.  It was a huge factor in my healing my relationship with me and the angst I held onto from old relationship hurts.

How Much Joy Can You Stand by Suzanne Falter-Barnes - The title of this one says it all.  This is a fun book that inspires you to take chances and allow joy into your life!

The Life Organizer By Jennifer Louden - I love this book for the many wonderful journal prompts it provides.  I will confess, I don’t use it much as a life organizer, but more as a compliment to my journaling practice.

When I started this post, I wasn’t sure where I was going with it, but as I wrote, I realized that it was more than just one post.  It is actually a series of posts about the process of manifesting all that you really, really want in life.

In the next several posts, I will share some tips and techniques that I employ to create opportunities and events that lead to the manifestation of my deepest desires and loftiest dreams.  I will also share challenges that have hindered the manifestation process for me, so you’ll know what to look for on your own journey.

I can tell you that having clear goals and objectives is at the very foundation of successfully manifesting your dreams and desires.  So that’s where we will begin.

Knowing what you are trying to manifest is a simple concept right?  Well, not always.  Problems often arise and complicate things when we buy into the mindset of instant gratification, which of course is a plague in our society today.  You see, when you are off and running towards something even before you figure out if it’s what you really want, you may get what you are running after.  BUT, when you get it, it probably isn’t going to feel good and in your mind, you will think the whole manifestation process has failed you.

The truth is, getting what you really want takes discipline.

It requires you to STOP and spend some time getting clear about what it is YOU truly desire.  We get so caught up in what others have, what others want and what others think that we often make decisions about what we want based on the thoughts and feelings of others(just think of the whole advertising industry).  Now, in a few rare cases, these things match our deepest desires, but in most cases, they don’t resonate with what we want and need at all.

We get tricked into thinking that if we just get the new job, new car, or new wardrobe, that we will be happy.  Only to find out once we have those things that we are still feeling lost and empty.

So how do you figure out what you really want?

The first step is creating the time and the space to get to know yourself.  Now this sounds simple, but for many, it is really hard to spend time alone getting comfortable with your own energy and thoughts.  Anyone who has ever uttered the words “I just can’t meditate” is guilty of avoiding their own voice and energy.  Same goes for those who avoid looking in the mirror.  I mean, if you can’t look at yourself and love what you see, how the heck do you expect to know what the real you wants?

So if you really, really want to get what you want, my challenge to you is to set aside 15 minutes a day over the next 5 days to get to know yourself.

I recommend finding a quiet spot inside or outside, wherever you feel more comfy.  Bring a journal if it helps.  And start to ask yourself questions like:

What kind of work do I really want?

What kind of relationship do I really want?

What kind of a life do I really want?

Don’t edit what you say, just write or explore the first thing that pops into your head.  Be open to the infinite possibilities of YOU!

As always, if you find this post helpful, pass it along to a friend and/or make a comment!

Blessed Be!
Kim

I was sitting here at my desk, staring at a blank screen, wondering what I would share with you all today.  I sat, I stared, NOTHING!

So I did what I always do when I am stuck.

I stopped what I was doing, got out my smudge stick, wafted some sage around my office to clear the energy, opened a window to get a flow of new energy entering in and then I lit a candle and sat in silence asking the Goddess what I needed to pay attention to today.  Within an instant I heard her speaking softly into my ear.  She whispered, “sacred rituals, tell them about creating sacred rituals in everything they do.”

Now I could have stayed sitting at my desk, frustrated that my creativity was locked up and not about to give me anything.  But, instead, I opted for a simple, sacred ritual that I use on a daily basis to move me forward on my path.

You see, these simple rituals that I do (and I have many), take me from being in my head or my mind too much and bring me back in touch with Spirit.  The transition from struggle to ease is almost instantaneous.  Like today with the writing.  For at least ten minutes I just sat there, stressed out about writing a post.  With every tick of the clock, the tension grew and the grip the stress had on my creativity was tightening.

By taking a break and performing my mini ritual, I broke the cycle of stress, and tension and ushered in a flow of ideas and inspiration.  The ritual took less than a minute and when I sat down at my keyboard again, the words began flowing.

Was it the power of the ritual that did it?  Was it divine intervention?

The answer to that is kinda.  You see the real shift came when I decided to step out of the stress and fear of not being able to write and I stepped into my own power.  Of course, I view myself as a divine being, so I guess it was divine intervention.  The point is, I decided to take control of the situation instead of letting the situation control me.  Yes, the ritual was the catalyst, it was the tool I used to reconnect me with my own power, the power of the Goddess that resides within me.  But it all began with me making the decision to take control of the situation.

So often, we let our circumstances control us, we get so caught up in the stress and panic of a situation, that we give our power away to the situation itself.  We allow ourselves to become the victim instead of the victor.

Rituals, even mini ones like this one are an amazing way to bring you back to center so you have the clarity to take action.  When you have this clarity and you choose to take action, you are also choosing to take back your power.

So go ahead, create some rituals that help you regain your footing and take control of those situations that are causing you stress and fear.  They don’t have to be elaborate; they just need to remind you that you are powerful and that the Divine supports you in all you do.  With that knowledge, you can accomplish anything!

Feel free to share your rituals by making a comment!

Have a Divine Day!

Kim

The idea of faith has come into my consciousness four separate times in the last two hours today and that got me thinking.

So, as I sat and meditated on this “in your face” appearance of the word faith and the concept of faith, I realized how faith has been the cornerstone of all the important decisions and actions I have taken since I discovered it.

Then came the really big question, how do I help other’s, particularly other women recognize faith and tap into the power of faith?  The answer I got was to share the story of my own discovery of faith, so that others may find the courage to discover it as well.

So here’s the first part of my story.  I’ll call it:

The Summer I Discovered Faith

It’s funny, I am trying to think back to when I understood what faith was.  It was about 12 years ago, which coincidently was the time that I began what I call “my spiritual awakening”.  It was a time in my life when I was ending an 11 year relationship, leaving a job that I had been in for over 6 years and selling my home to move into an apartment.

I was in the midst of so much change.  I imagine that to some people my life might have looked like it was in major chaos, but I had never felt better in my entire life.  Why?  Because I had complete faith that everything I was doing and everything that was happening was going to work out exactly as it was supposed to.  It just had to!

As I look back on that time, I remember that there was a certain calm within me, I now recognize that calm as faith.  What triggered this calm?  Well, I believe it was the simple act of me doing what my heart and soul had been calling me to do for years.

You see, I had been in a marriage that after six months, I knew I should not have been in.  I was working in a job that had nothing to do with my life purpose and I had been living my life by everyone else’s standards instead of honoring my own wants and needs.

You see, that was the key, when I honored my own wants, needs and desires, I was free to be exactly who I was meant to be.  And, by some unseen, intangible thing called faith, I understood that everything I was doing, was completely and utterly supported by the Divine.

When I decided to leave my marriage and subsequently, my job, I felt like this enormous weight had been lifted off my shoulders.  Sure, I mourned the loss of two major pieces of my life, but I had complete and utter faith that there was something better and more joyous waiting for me just ahead.

In fact, each day, as I encountered new friends and new experiences, it was if I could see the life I dreamed of unfolding right in front of me.  I was entranced by all that I could and would be!  What an amazing year that was!

So how did I find faith?  Well, I guess when it comes down to it, faith actually found me.  It found me, right after I sent word to the universe that I was ready to be the woman I was meant to be in this lifetime.

So if you are looking for faith, I the best advice I can give is this:

Go ahead, take that first step, have the courage to be all you’ve ever dreamed of being and when you do, I promise, faith will find you.  It will be there to guide and support you in all you do!

Are you ready for faith to find you?

In honor of the Flower Moon, I am going to change up my routine a little bit.  I am going to ask you to focus on the masculine energy this month.  You know what that means right?  It’s time to go back, revisit those dreams you’ve been having, but instead of just envisioning them, I want you to make a list of action steps you can take to bring them one step closer to being a reality for you.

You know that old saying, “Every journey begins with one step.”?  Well that’s your task this month, to take that first step.  So often we deny ourselves the realization of our dreams because we see them as so far away from where we are right now.  But what if each day for the next 30 days, you did one simple thing to bring that dream into reality?  Well, a month from now, you could look back and say, “WOW!  I can’t believe how far I’ve come!”  The key is to take action, to do something, right now!

Here’s a simple ritual to get your started on your journey!

Time Investment:
Initial time investment 15-20 Minutes
Ongoing investment varies depending on your dream

Supplies:
A Clear Vision of Your Dream
Energy of the Flower Full Moon
Your journal or pad of paper and a Pen

Details:
Before heading outside, find a quiet place, sit and take several deep breaths.  Really focus on your breathing and allow yourself to relax and center, when you feel relaxed and grounded, you can head outside.

Once outside, under the full moon, take a few minutes to breathe and connect with the moon’s energies.  When you feel the connection or “pull” of the moon, you should begin the ritual.

As you stand or sit under the Flower Moon, envision your dream.  When you do, imagine that you are being handed a map that clearly shows you what path to take to get from where you are to where you want to be.  Imagine setting foot on this path, beginning your journey to your dream.  With each step, notice what is going on around you.  Pay close attention to the signs you see, the people you meet on the path and the opportunities that present themselves.  Everything that you encounter on the way to your dream is important.

As you are imaging this scene, pay close attention to what pops into your head and write it down.  Be as descriptive as possible.  So many times opportunities are all around us, but we don’t see them because they don’t look like we expect them to.  The “odd” images or ideas that pop into your head when doing an exercise like this are often your intuition giving you clues to these opportunities.  The key – don’t discount something just because it doesn’t make sense right now.

Finally, envision yourself reaching your destination.  Now write down what it feels like to be living your dream.  Once you are through, I want you to take a deep breath and ground yourself again, then move onto the next step.

Ok – Once you are grounded and centered and youhave written down any ideas or images that have come into your head, I want you to write the numbers one through three on your paper.  Write each one on a separate line.  Then I want you to write three ways that you could take action that would move you one step closer to your dream.

HINT:  These should be simple action steps, in fact, the simpler the better.

As a final step, I want you to choose one of the three items, pick the one that really stands out to you when you read them.  Then, I want you to make a commitment to yourself under the energy of the blossoming moon above, to take action on this item within the next ten days.  Once that item is complete, move onto the second one, then the third, then make a new list.  Before you know it, you will see your dream unfolding right before your very eyes.  All it takes is that one step to start it all.
Are you ready to take your first step?
As always, I’d love to hear about your experiences and your progress.  If you feel inspired and would like to share, you can leave a comment.

Traditionally, in the western culture, success has been defined as being financially stable, having risen up the corporate ladder and the ability to buy all the baubles and trinkets you desire. You know – the house, the car, the wardrobe and the vacations. Keeping up with the Jones has not only been a constant measure of success, but it has become a way of life for the majority of the population. It is no surprise that at least half if not more of the people I know are “successful”, yet they are feeling lost and empty.

Can you relate?

You long for something more, but have no idea what that something might be. So you continue to work harder so you can make more money and buy more things. But, the truth is, what you are seeking you won’t find “out there”. It is not something you can own or buy, it isn’t something someone can give you or that you can take from another.

So what is it then?

You seek to be in balance. Yes balance.

Our culture has been obsessed with outward signs of success for centuries. These external success indicators were created and are defined by the energy of the Divine Masculine. By nature, masculine energy pushes forward, it is aggressive and it is outwardly focused. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that masculine energy is bad or negative, we need masculine energy to make things happen. But, we also need the balance of the feminine in order to sustain what we have created and to be whole.

The problem has been that just as powerfully as the Divine Masculine has emerged, the Divine Feminine has been kept at bay, hidden beneath the veil. She has been banished, ridiculed and portrayed as soft or weak or both. We have been operating in an unbalanced environment, favoring the masculine and ignoring the feminine. It is no wonder our markets are crashing down around us. Whenever you focus on one half of a whole for too long, eventually things get warped and misshapen and they tumble wildly out of control.

Nothing can sustain itself when it is out of balance.

It is time to reconnect with the energy of the Divine Feminine, to redefine success in terms of how it makes of feel on the inside. What inspires you, what makes you feel good, and what fulfills you? These are the questions you need to begin asking yourself so you can come into balance and experience the wholeness you have been seeking for so long.

A common theme with clients and friends alike emerged this month. It seems that several clients and friends are experiencing some kind of upheaval in their work environment. Of course, this is something we hear about every day in the news, but this week it took on a more personal tone and got me to thinking about change and how we as a society handle it.
It seems many people are faced with downsizing, re-organizations and layoffs. For the majority of people who are faced with these situations, the first place you go to is fear and uncertainty.Fear that you will no longer to be able to provide for yourself and your family and uncertainty about where you will end up. But what if these changes you are experiencing are just a huge bump on the noggin from the Universe to get you to pay attention to and explore those dreams you left behind so long ago? What if these situations are a way for you to have more time to play and to be with loved ones? What if these changes were a way for you to begin taking care of YOU?

Discover Your Maiden Self – A Maiden Moon Ritual

Time Investment:
15 to 20 minutes

Supplies:
Your Imagination
Energy of the Maiden Full Moon

Details:
Once the moon has risen, go outside to begin your ritual.

Once outside, under the full moon, take a few minutes to breathe and connect with the moon’s energies. When you feel the connection or “pull” of the moon, you should begin the ritual. Let the following story unfold in your mind’s eye.

As you stand underneath the Maiden Moon, close your eyes. You see a camera before you, pick it up and as you look through the lens, you see a beautiful young maiden.

Bring into focus the lens of a camera. Understand that you are there to capture the energy and exuberance of the maiden that is before you.

As you look into the lens, you can’t help but smile. Her energy is palpable, she is a beautiful young Goddess and just seeing her sparks a place deep inside of you, a place you abandoned so long ago. Let the movie of this maiden unfold before you.

See her by the ocean or in a field, running, laughing, the cool breeze blowing through her hair. She is radiant, glowing. Feel her energy, see yourself in her place, she is carefree and full of possibility! Allow yourself to become her energy, you are transported to a time and place where you are that carefree maiden.

Take a moment to look at yourself, what is different about this maiden self? What do you see in her that you haven’t seen in the mirror lately? What hopes and dreams hide behind her twinkling eyes?

Talk to her, ask her what she wants to do with her life. What does she dream of doing? Where does she want to live? What does she see as her next big adventure?

Pay attention to her answers, they hold a clue for you about your own dreams. Her answers may surprise you, but allow her to speak her truth. Allow yourself to be thrilled by her vision and her opportunistic nature.

When she is through telling you her story, see yourself back behind the camera.

Smile and wave to the maiden, thank her for allowing you to capture her joy and excitement and for the dreams she has shared with you.

Step back away from the camera and open your eyes.

This has been a wonderful journey, allowing you to connect with your maiden self.

I encourage you to journal about your experience. Here are some journal prompts to get you going?

What did the maiden have to share with you? Were you comfortable with her expansive energy? Does her dream resonate with you? How can you honor her dream? How can you capture her enthusiasm and her view of life as a series of never ending possibilities?

Are you ready to take that leap into your next BIG adventure?

If the idea of having a BIG adventure scares you and you are feeling trapped by your fears, perhaps working with a coach would help. Curious if you’re coaching is right for you? Visit our website and take our F*R*EE Coaching Assessment to help you decide!

This month’s full moon is about growth and awakening. It is about the innocence of the Maiden and all the opportunities she sees before her. The maiden archetype is all about innocence and freedom. Remember when you were a teen and all you saw was possibilities? Remember you didn’t let responsibilities and duty dictate your dreams. You were free to dream any dream your imagination could think up.

Well, what if you began to see upheaval and change as the maiden energy trying to emerge again in your life, what if you allowed your maiden archetype to come forward and dream a new dream for you?

Change and upheaval are opportunities for us to evaluate where we are and where we really want to go. It is our chance to get back on track and live our dream.

The key is once you connect with your dream, you need to have the courage to explore it fully and take a leap of faith to step toward it.

This month’s ritual is designed to help you connect with your maiden self and to the freedom to dream BIG dreams once more. It is designed to put you in touch with your dreams and allow you to see the opportunities that exist all around you every day!

Aaaah, Spring is here!

Yes, even though it is still pretty chilly here in Massachusetts, Friday was officially the first day of Spring.  Regardless of where you live and what the weather is like, there is always a magical energy to this time of year.

For me, it always brings about thoughts of sunshine, flowers and new growth.  It is absolutely one of my favorite times of the year and I can’t help but take some time to look at where I’ve been, where I want to go and what I need to do to get there.

In honor of springtime, here is a simple planting ritual from this month’s Divine Connection Inner Goddess newsletter, designed for you to take an active role in manifesting your desires.

Have you ever felt that pull in those first days of spring to go out and plant something? It’s sort of an intuitive pull from Mother Earth herself, calling us to work with her cycles and rhythms.

For over a decade, each spring, I have performed some sort of a planting ritual. I do these rituals to remind myself that manifesting my deepest desires is not just about setting an intention; it’s about getting dirty, pulling some weeds, planting some seeds and of course, nurturing them as they grow.

Here is a simple planting ritual that you can use to help you put your dreams into motion!

Time Investment:
About 45 minutes

Supplies:

  • An intention in mind for something you want to bring into your reality
  • a small piece of paper (about the size of a fortune from a fortune cookie)
  • a pen
  • a packet of seeds
  • a small flower pot
  • potting soil
  • water

Details:

  1. Take some time to think about what it is you desire and what holds you back from bringing this into your life.
  2. In your minds eye, envision these obstacles as weeds in the soil and picture yourself pulling them out, preparing the soil for new plantings. (if you have a garden, you can actually do this exercise there by naming then pulling weeds)
  3. After you finish preparing your soil, take the small piece of paper and write a couple of words that resonate with the intention/desire you want to manifest.
  4. Place a little bit of the potting soil in the bottom of your flower pot.
  5. Place your small piece of paper in the soil.
  6. Cover the paper with more soil.
  7. Take one or two seeds into your hand, hold them close to your heart and take a few deep breaths.
  8. Envision your heart and soul connecting to the heart and soul of the seed.
  9. Once you feel the connection, gently talk to the seed; tell it that you would like it to be the physical representation of your intention. Ask it to be part of your ritual then visualize yourself pouring your intention into it.
  10. Take the seed and gently place it inside the flower pot then cover it with soil.
  11. Water the soil and place in a sunny window.
  12. Continue to connect with the seed on a regular basis. Remember the work the seed must do in order for it to push through its shell and sprout. As you do this, make a list of things you can do to break through your shell and grow your intention.
  13. Gratitude is such an important element in our growth and in the manifestation process. Enjoy the beauty of your seed as it matures into a plant and remember to give thanks often for its participation in your ritual.
  14. Enjoy!

I would love to hear about your experiences with this ritual, feel free to share them by making a comment!
